BASRaT Registrants are ideal for key shifts in new NHS Plan

The New NHS plan has been unveiled today, with emphasis on three key changes including shifting from hospital to community and from sickness to prevention.

BASRaT registered Sport Rehabilitators are ideally placed to make a difference.

High-quality community rehabilitation

BASRaT supports Sport Rehabilitators to deliver effective, person-centred rehabilitation and work with Alliance partners to assist those in need.

The new NHS Plan is looking to move hospital care to community care and states: “millions more patients will be treated closer to home with the roll out of Neighbourhood Health Services across the country as part of the 10 Year Health Plan.”

Healthcare professionals delivering person-centred rehabilitation

Sport Rehabilitators help people suffering from MSK pain, injury or illness. They work with people of all ages and all backgrounds to maintain their health and fitness, recover from and prevent injury and reduce pain using exercise, movement and manual based therapeutic interventions.

BASRaT and Sport Rehabilitators can aid with this key focus on prevention, as clinicians, Sport Rehabbers focus on treating the patient in front of them and work to inspire patients to make positive lifestyle choices. The new plan references prevention: “This is a positive step towards the healthier future people want. Obesity is a chronic, relapsing condition that needs long-term support. Crucially, as the Government now rightly recognises, we must also shift to preventing ill health before it starts.”

Clinicians in place

Many experienced Sport Rehabilitators work in key roles within the MOD and NHS up to band 7 and make a difference to patients lives - see for yourself here.
