Inclusivity and Equality for Women in Sport and Healthcare.
As part of the ongoing national and international conversation around respect, safety and inclusion in sport, clinical, and occupational environments, we want to better understand the experiences of female Graduate Sport Rehabilitators (GSRs). This includes how they are treated by patients, athletes, coaches, colleagues, parents and spectators.
Our goal is to listen, learn and support. We want to ensure that all Sport Rehabilitators feel respected, safe and valued. No one should ever be made to feel dismissed, disrespected or disadvantaged because of their gender or identity.
We are creating a confidential and supportive space where you can share your experiences or concerns. You are always in control of what happens next. We will never take action or share information without your clear consent. Any information you provide will be handled in accordance with UK data protection law (GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018) and will be stored securely and confidentially.
Contact and Reporting
You can contact us at: inclusion@basrat.org
If you ever feel unsafe or need to speak to someone urgently, you can call our main office number: 0330 133 2123. In an emergency where you or someone else is at risk of harm, call the police on 999.
If you prefer, you can report an incident anonymously using our secure online form.
This option means you do not need to provide your name or contact details and your submission will still be read and reviewed with care. Anonymous reports help us identify wider patterns, shape future support and strengthen our work on equality and inclusion, even if we cannot contact you directly about your experience.
Allyship and Shared Responsibility
Everyone has a role to play in creating an inclusive and respectful environment. We welcome reports from anyone, regardless of gender, who witnesses or experiences inappropriate or discriminatory behaviour.
Acts of allyship, speaking up, reporting concerns, and supporting others, are vital to making sport and healthcare safer and fairer for all. Our reporting form also provides an optional space for you to share your gender identity if you wish, which helps us build a more complete and balanced understanding of experiences across the profession.
Safeguarding and Legal Responsibilities
While we will always respect your privacy and seek your consent before taking any action, there are certain situations where BASRaT has a professional and legal duty to act. If a report raises safeguarding concerns, such as risks to a child, a vulnerable adult, to yourself or indicates potential criminal behaviour, BASRaT may be required to share limited and relevant information with appropriate authorities.
This is done only where necessary to protect you or others from harm and always in line with our safeguarding and data protection policies. Wherever possible, we will keep you informed about what action is being taken and why.
Her Game Too
If the incident occurred in a sporting environment, whether professional, amateur, or grassroots, we also encourage you to report it to Her Game Too. They are doing fantastic work to make sport a more inclusive and respectful space and sharing your experience can help them continue to drive positive change. We are committed to collaborating with them wherever possible.
Get Involved
Finally, if you would like to help us build a more inclusive, equitable and respectful profession, we would love to hear from you. Together, we can make meaningful change that ensures every Sport Rehabilitator feels safe, supported and empowered in their role.
