The PSA launches a single set of Regulatory Standards
Regulation brought in line for Accredited Registers and Professional Regulators
We are delighted to share that a single set of Standards will now apply for both Accredited Registers and Professional Regulators. This brings Regulation standards in line for BASRaT as an Accredited Register alongside Professional Regulators including the GMC and HCPC.
What does Regulation mean? The standards mark a commitment to public safety and help protect the public, providing reassurance for both employers and patients and confidence in the profession of Sport Rehabilitation.
Accredited Registers
Accredited Registers have worked to high standards and policies and passed the Professional Standards Authority (PSA) assessment; enabling display of the accredited register quality mark.
The updated framework introduces clearer and more accessible expectations, with a strengthened focus on governance, safeguarding, risk-based decision-making and professional suitability. For the first time, the PSA has introduced a single set of Standards covering both professional regulators and Accredited Registers,
The revised Standards set out the expectations the PSA will use when assessing how registers protect patients and the public and maintain confidence in Sport Rehabilitation alongside the GMC and HCPC. Read more here.
